On November 11, the Metropolitan John of Belgorod and Starooskolie celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God in Koroche. The renovation of the facade of the main building of the city holy shrine has been recently completed. Finishing works were carried out with the financial support of Prioskolie.

Young parishioners welcomed the Metropolitan at the entrance to the church. Solemnly congratulating the Metropolitan John on the 25th anniversary of the episcopal consecration, they handed him gifts from Koroche — bread and salt, ripe apples and snow-white roses.

After reading the Holy Gospel, the Metropolitan addressed the worshipers with an archpastoral speech. During the public liturgy, prayers for the multiplication of love and the unity of the Church were also read.

At the end of the public liturgy, Head of the Belgorod Metropolitanate noted that there exists personal property, but the church is not privately held and is not inherited, it is the property of the people and the centre of its unity.

"Today, I saw the renovated and transformed temple here. My heart was delighted and felt that people in Koroche relate with special love to the main shrine of the city — the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God. Let me express my gratitude to all caring people participating in the adorning of the church, which will stand for centuries", said Metropolitan John, addressing the congregation.

For hard work to the glory of Svyatoe Belogorie, Head of the Belgorod Metropolitanate presented the Episcopal certificates to fellow city people who are taking an active part in the life of the parish and blessed them for new good deeds. G.A. Bobritsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Prioskolie Group of Companies, was among the awarded people.
