A.N. Tkachev, the Minister of Agriculture of Russia, Ye.S. Savchenko, the Governor of the Belgorod Region, G.A. Bobritsky, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prioskolye Group of Companies and other officials participated in a high-profile opening ceremony.

The Minister began his visit to the Belgorod Region with the Center of Innovative Biotechnologies of Zavod Premiksov No. 1 (Premix Plant No. 1), CJSC. The company is a base for a new high-technology production of lysine with the capacity of 57 thousand tons per year. A.G. Balanovsky, the Director General, held a tour of the plant for the honoured guests and told them about the infrastructure of the industrial complex in details.

"Lysine is one of the four essential amino acids, which cannot be synthesized de novo in animals or birds and must be supplied in their diet in a ready-to-use condition." This particular amino acid is of the highest importance for growth and recovery of muscle fibers, health of bones and the immune system strengthening. Nowadays, development of husbandry and poultry farming in the industrial-scale production is impossible without enrichment of a diet with amino acids.

Wheat grain is the prime and main raw material for lysine production, so the Belgorod Region has a large raw materials potential.

"The crucial thing is that we will manufacture the amino acids, which have been imported before, making us dependent upon many countries. It had an impact on the product price," noticed A.N. Tkachev, the Minister of Agriculture of Russia.

205 thousand tones of wheat per year will be processed at the new facility. This fact is also essential as our country has excesses of wheat. "We need a couple more plants like this to solve the issue of amino acids import substitution," stressed the Minister of Agriculture of Russia.
