A new multipark, where Belgorod zoo is to be relocated, is created in Sosnovka natural landmark. A scheduled meeting of the Supervisory Board for the Multipark Development was attended by Ye.S.Savchenko, the Governor of the Region. The participants of the meeting assessed construction progress of the prospective zoo on site: nowadays, enclosures for animals are rapidly constructed, the road is laid out and forest area is cleaned.

The zoo area is 25 ha. This area will include 44 exhibits, 8 geographic zones, an artificial lake, an exotarrium, a contact area for children and a young naturalists station. A special place for the "Animal World of the Belgorod Region" exhibit is allotted.

The programme of custodianship over the zoo inhabitants has been currently developed. Corporate persons and individuals willing to financially support keeping of animals in the zoo act as sponsors. Each enclosure will bear a plaque specifying the information about the sponsor. A special holiday, called Sponsors' Day, will be celebrated in the zoo soon.

More than 350 animals will live in the zoo. Some of them already have sponsors. Prioskolye Torgovy Dom (Trading House) will take care of a rare Amur tiger.

Opening of the zoo in Sosnovka natural landmark is scheduled for this autumn.
