Scope of Experiment to Be Expanded

"Vaccination is an efficient program for protection of poultry," said V.N. Rodionov, Deputy Director General on Veterinary of Prioskolye Managing Company. "It is a whole package of measures activating poultry immune system. But the problem is that there is no universal vaccination program suitable for any and all farm units."

The intention to increase productivity leads to changes in poultry rearing technology, introduction of innovations in diagnostics and treatment processes. In particular, biological preparations of a new generation are being introduced in everyday practice.

"In December 2012 we started testing a new prevention program in cooperation with the French company Filavie, a vaccine manufacturer well-known in Europe," said V.N. Rodionov. "The results of the first stage of the program testing, which ended in May of this year, can be considered satisfactory," noted V.N. Rodionov. "It has been decided to expand the scope of the experiment. The five multiplication farms of Prioskolye Group of Companies will be engaged."

So far Prioskolye's need for an autogenous vaccine can be fully satisfied through direct import of Filavie production from France. However, its own laboratory in Russia may be established in prospect, if necessary.
