For lysine production various products containing much sugar such as beet and blackstrap molasses, corn as well as other starch-containing cultures are used. But the most efficient, eco-friendly and technologically feasible raw material for its production is our region is wheat grain.

Specialists admit that Russia has a great potential for lysine production because the stock of raw material is huge and the prices are competitive enough.

According to Mr Gerrit van de Pypekamp, the technical manager of the project, microbiologist from South Africa, in the coming 10-15 years Russia may become a serious player in the international amino acid production market. – It is a highly competitive sphere where Chinese manufacturers dominate now. A possibility to represent Russia in this market and to become the first Russian company to develop fermentation business is a great piece of luck for Prioskolye.

Besides, lysine production requires participation of microbiology experts and biotechnologists in the project. We have such specialists in the Belgorod Region. Additional personal training may be provided by experimental laboratory created by Prioskolye on the basis of the plant under construction.
