Light and Heat from Waste Products

The equipment was manufactured and mounted by Soyuz, LLC, a Russian plant located in Kovrov. Its brand-new design is effective for generation of steam from burning poultry farming wastes, which can be used for the company's process needs and turned into a source of electric energy and heat. Besides, it is also a way to solve the environmental issue – there is no more need to dump poultry manure on landfills.

Specialists of Razvitiye Corporation, OJSC observed the new equipment operation on site of Prioskolye due to the order of the Governor of the Belgorod Region. The purpose was not only to study a new for Russia way of disposal of poultry farming waste products, its profitability and efficiency, but also to prepare a suggestion on possibility of region-wide use of the technique. "We got answers to our questions having visited Prioskolye Poultry Factory and witnessed the operating steam boiler," said Andrei Urvanov, Alternative Energy Field Manager of Razvitiye Corporation, OJSC. As company's experts explained to us, the project is a targeted one, and can only be used by poultry factories with poultry floor housing system. To get more details of the designers' proposal discussion we visited the plant, where we were advised a range of promising ideas on use of the equipment for chicken manure combustion. Provided that a certain pressure and temperature conditions are met, the steam might be directed to a steam turbine to get electric energy and heat. A very interesting way of disposal of chicken cage manure, which is of little use in biogas stations due to the necessity of Nitrogen neutralization was also proposed. It might be recycled to an environmental friendly thermally disinfected organic fertilizer.
